YOUTH LOOP
Gombolyag Foundation, the organiser of the BuSho International Short Film Festival, invites young filmmakers to a week-long filmmaking camp during the first week of August 2023. The Youth Loop project is based on the development of resilience, which is "the ability to cope with surprises, changes and unexpected obstacles." (lexiq.hu)

While making fiction short films, we want to show young people, who often struggle with themselves, that video art and the creative process can be a tool for developing and achieving a positive self-image. The methodology developed during the project will help young people to develop the ability to react spontaneously to unexpected situations, which they will later use throughout their lives.

On 1 October, our Foundation's latest international cooperation officially started, this time in the framework of an Erasmus+ youth project, where 2 Slovenian (Aspira, IRmedia) and 2 Hungarian (Gombolyag, Hídak) organisations will try to take this turn together over 12 months. We have been involved in a lot of cooperation with our Slovenian friends in both countries since 2011, so the film line will again be supervised by Zorán and the theoretical part will be managed by two excellent organisations in the field of youth exchanges.

Objectives - to build resilience in young people through the use of short fiction film methodology combined with youth work. Youth workers will be provided with a methodology for using film in their work, and filmmakers working with young people will be provided with knowledge on how to integrate youth work into the filmmaking process.
Outcomes - training of youth workers and filmmakers (2-2 per partner) using the resulting methodology, creation of an e-learning platform, and finally "live" testing with 5-5 young people per partner. Don't hesitate to join us next summer in Gombolyag.

The programme is co-funded by the European Union!

WE ARE LOOPED
After a long preparation and a lot of work, as you can see below, the Youth Loop youth film project on Gombolyag, which we have been trying to unravel for a long time, has finally been written and completed. What is resilience, the ability to react spontaneously to unexpected situations?

The solution: a hard-built e-learning platform led by Slovenian mentor Zoran Smid, good youth leaders, enthusiastic young people and their main skill: how to work for a week in the middle of the world, or rather at the end of the world, in our camp? That's the way to go, that's the way to go and that's the way to go to the BuSho festival to see this and to see this year's harvest. In the early afternoon of Saturday before the awards ceremony, you will be able to see the films of 3 workshops, the 19th GomBuSho supported by the NKA and the international projects All Included and Youth Loop co-funded by Erasmus+!

And here is the final result, for all to see: short films created by young people
with the help of youth leaders using the "e-learning platform" built up during the Youth Loop project.
The original aim of the project was to bring together youth and filmmakers to develop a methodology for working with young people to make short films. How successful this has been is for everyone to decide when they sign up and start taking the loop.
