7-14. September 2025, MCT Trbovlje, Slovenia
As a result of our cooperation since 2011, a Hungarian team once again traveled to our Slovenian partner in the city of Trbovlje, which is a mining town on the banks of the Sava River and is known for having the tallest chimney in Europe (360 meters). However, this was the first time that the Hungarians went without an adult leader. I mean the children have grown up, everyone is now of legal age, so Botond became the youth leader and was accompanied by four youngsters who are already experienced returnees, as we were together in Bosnia on the All-in project. Following the preparatory APV visit in June, the Hungarian team set off at the end of the first week of September on a Flixbus, after the fate of Citadella IC had been uncertain all summer. Instead of Budapest, the train departed from Ajka, so Népliget was a more certain starting point by bus. In addition to the Hungarians and the hosts, young people from Spain and Portugal also came to the program this time, and everyone had a great time during the week spent together. What's more, the participants were enriched with another youth pass, and the Hungarian team responded briefly and concisely:
„I really enjoyed the valuable time that we spent together. We did everything that we needed to do, we were hiking in beautiful places, play sports, have fun and made new friends and reconnected with old ones.” Zoli
„I had a great time, hats off to the organizers for putting together such an enjoyable program despite the inclement weather.” Geri
„It was one of the best exchanges so far, throughout it we've experienced and learned a lot which we can adept into our everyday life. I cant say one bad word about it.” Norbi
„The greatest week of my life.” Radó
„This exchange opened my eyes to what an enjoyable experience this can be if done right. We made amazing connections and a fun making of movie.” Botond
After spending some time with this youngsters before, I admit I was a little curious to ask our hosts how the Hungarian delegation had behaved, how many trouble they had been involved in during the week, but fortunately Nastja reassured me: „I was so proud of them, they did an amazing job with the making of movie, and also if i needed help with anything, they were the first ones to come and help me, so i really need to tell you that they were amazing.”
Thanks for this opportunity, we hope there will be a follow-up or another international exchange, either in Slovenia or at our camp in Gombolyag.
The program is co-financed by the European Union!
